As the construction pieces continue falling into place on site, we’ve successfully filled one of the two permanent Chorley Council roles associated with the Strawberry Fields project.
Emma Meichan joined as Digital Office Park Manager last week after fulfilling a similar role at another modern office building for The Grow Company. A Chorley resident, she’s passionate about the new office park and can’t wait to move in.
It’s an exciting new development and one I was very eager to be involved with. The facility is a great thing for the Chorley area, and living in Chorley I’m proud that the office park has been built in the town and 100 percent certain that it will be a great success for everyone involved.
Focus now turns to the second permanent role that comes with the Hub; the part-time Univeristy Advisor (Digital) position. For full information about the post and to apply click here.
Preparations are continuing ahead of the opening of Strawberry Fields. Here’s another gallery of photos taken within the last week of the progress being made inside and out..
The outside of the building is receiving some finishing touches ready for the site’s launch.
The brick paving is down outside as well as the some of the internal carpeting inside.
Here’s an example of an all-but complete small office space alongside the type of bright painted colours to be expected around the building.

We made a site visit this week to check on the progress of the Hub ahead of its opening in May.
As you can see the outside of the building is looking really good and the reception area is beginning to take shape.
The kitchen units are now in place and the inner parts of the office space are nearing completion.
Work also continues on the first floor, with carpet down in the corner office and work gathering pace in one of the open plan offices.
Time is running out if you like the look of either of the roles available inside the Council’s new state-of-the-art facility on Euxton Lane.
Applications are being accepted until midnight on Thursday, 31 January for the permanent one day per week position as University Advisor (Digital). The role exists to consult with small/medium sized businesses and circulate information about new technologies and developments in the digital sector.
You’ve got an extra eight days if the Digital Office Park Manager post is more to your liking. The application process for that one closes on Friday, 8 February. The full time, permanent role is subtle for an experienced estates manager who’s used to dealing with a multi-tenanted site.

Welcome to the new online home for Strawberry Fields Digital Hub.
Not long to wait until Chorley’s new state of the art office facility throws open its doors to the next generation of digital workers.
It’s going to be an exciting year for digital business, one we hope will create a platform for years to come and show the country Chorley is leading the way in accommodating modern, digital-led companies and individuals.
And there’s no need to worry about the EU funding part of the project. No matter what transpires in the coming weeks and months, the £4.1m is already in place and being put to good use.
We’ll have regular updates of the project’s progression over the next few months right here on the events page, as well as news of jobs and businesses signing up to use the park.
